Startup [Long Island] Events are exciting weekend-long learning opportunities open to everyone who wants to build a new commercial startup venture, a web/iPhone/Android app, an educational program, or a social-entrepreneurial mission on the Island. Developers, graphic designers, teachers, sales professionals, students and everyone else with the ambition to turn a good idea into a reality is welcome. Come experience the future of creative work, collaboration, and opportunity with us this November.
What Happens At This Event?
It is Friday evening, people start arriving unsure what to expect. Drinks and snacks are served, and people start mingling. No one knows what ideas are in the room, what talents are possessed by participants, or what to expect. The excitement is palpable! One-by-one people begin to pitch ideas and to recruit others to join their team. Some ideas are intense, others make you laugh. One-by-one, people self-select into teams, joining forces to compete head-on with the other teams in the room. Personalities collide and special opportunities appear. With teams form, everyone breaks-out to their own spaces to begin planning and working on their teams project.
Over the weekend to come, teams will work together to execute on their plans. Between breakfast breaks, lunches and catered evening meals, teams will forge ahead toward their goal of a completed project ready to be presented and judged by a panel of experts assembled for the final festivities on Sunday evening. What happens in that time is better left unsaid, experienced 1st person. What becomes possible in the time is limitless!
